Apple silicon Macs have fast performance cores and power-saving efficiency cores.
What it is
Apple silicon chips mix two kinds of CPU core. Performance cores handle demanding work; efficiency cores handle background and light tasks while using much less power.
macOS decides which cores each task runs on. Activity Monitor's CPU History window shows them separately.
Should you worry?
No. It's how Apple silicon stays fast and efficient.
