mediaanalysisd
Analyzes images and video for features like Live Text and Visual Look Up.
What it is
mediaanalysisd examines images so macOS can recognize text you can select (Live Text), identify objects, plants and landmarks (Visual Look Up) and similar features across the system.
Like photoanalysisd, it does most of its work after an update or a large import, and it can use noticeable CPU for a while.
Should you worry?
Not usually. It settles once the backlog is processed.
What you can do
- Let it finish with the Mac plugged in and idle.
- Restart if it stays busy for days without progress.
