fileproviderd
Manages files from iCloud Drive and other cloud storage apps in Finder.
What it is
fileproviderd handles files that live in the cloud: iCloud Drive, and apps like Dropbox, Google Drive and OneDrive that use Apple's File Provider system. It downloads files when you open them and keeps them in sync.
Large uploads or downloads, or many files changing at once, make it work harder.
Should you worry?
Not if syncing is making progress.
What you can do
- Check the cloud app or Finder sidebar for sync status.
- Pause and resume sync in the cloud app if it seems stuck.
