Syncs app data with iCloud (CloudKit).
What it is
cloudd is the background process that syncs data between your Mac and iCloud for Apple apps and third-party apps that use iCloud.
It is busiest after signing in to iCloud, setting up a new Mac or when large amounts of data change on another device.
Should you worry?
Short bursts are normal. If it stays busy for a long time, a sync may be stuck.
What you can do
- Check System Settings › your name › iCloud for sync status.
- Restart the Mac; a stuck sync usually resumes cleanly.
